In 2008, the Brazilian Ministry of Health submitted a proposal to host the Annual Meeting of the Society HTAi in 2011, in Rio de Janeiro, under the theme �HTA for Health Systems Sustainability�.

The approval of Brazilian submission to host the HTAi annual conference and the Ministry of Health as head of Local Organizing Committee occurred in 2009, in Singapore.

It is noteworthy that since 2006 the Ministry of Health is a member of INAHTA (International Network of Agencies for Health Technology).
